Just 35 minutes away is the Balsams / Wilderness Ski Area. Featuring an alpine ski area with 16 beautiful tree-lined trails, five gladed areas and a Terrain Park. The vertical drop is 1,000 feet, with some runs stretching two miles plus a separate slope for beginners and a ski-play area for youngsters. A modern snowmaking system is in place to supplement Mother Nature on 80% of the trails. Certified members of the National Ski Patrol are on duty every day and PSIA certified instructors offer private coaching and group classes in alpine and telemark skiing, as well as snowboarding.

Bretton Woods, a larger ski area approximately an hour and 45 minutes away. Overlooking Mount Washington, Bretton Woods is New England's fastest growing ski resort. Once recognized as a strong novice area, Bretton Woods has since doubled in size to include more wide open cruising terrain and an abundance of black diamond glades for a total of 101!  With the addition of a fourth high speed quad chairlift, the most of any resort in NH, skiers and riders will enjoy more time on the slopes.
