Moose Festival

The Moose Festival is celebrated every year on the weekend before Labor Day

This weekend long event starts Friday afternoon in Colebrook. Stop by the Quilt show at the Trinity United Methodist Church, and then take a stroll down Main Street to peruse the Art Show display. Be sure to check out the street fair and enjoy the live entertainment. Stick around for the Cruise Night and the legendary Chicken BBQ.

Saturday the festivities begin in Canaan Vermont at the Canaan Community Park. Many local crafters and artists will be there displaying their crafts. Enjoy the music and take a look at the antique cars on display. Try your moose calling talent at the moose calling contest. Get a sample of moose stew at the Bill Bromage Moose Stew Cook-off. Things for the kids to enjoy: pony rides, bounce house, dog show and many others.

Also, on Saturday take a drive up to Pittsburg, maybe spot a moose along the way and visit the Amey Farm, for ‘a day on the farm’. Take a guided hike or stop by the Pittsburg School at 5pm for a chicken BBQ. Cap off the day with music under the stars at the Amey Farm.

Sunday enjoy breakfast at St. Albert Assumption Church Hall in W. Stewartstown then head to Columbia for the blessing of the autos.

The Moose Festival is sponsored by the North Country Chamber of Commerce, for more information please see their website: www.moosefestival.com
