Motorcycle Events

NH is famous for its Bike Week. Here in the Great North Woods we also celebrate the biker and host the ‘Blessing of the Bikes’ the weekend following the Laconia bike week in June. See our moose, enjoy the activities and ride motorcycle through some of New England’s most beautiful countryside.

Blessing of the Bikes, Colebrook NH

An annual event featuring cookouts, poker run, a motorcycle rodeo, parade and events in the scenic North Country. The Blessing of the Bikes takes place at the beautiful Our Lady of Grace Shrine. The monument has stood since 1948; it was originally built as a tribute of thanksgiving to Our Lady of Grace for 25 years of blessings and protection of the Oblates in northern New Hampshire. Today there are more than 50 monuments at the site, which has become a spiritual center. Every June just after Laconia's Bike Week, hundreds of motorcycles make the trek to the shrine for the annual "Blessing of the Bikes."

From the village of Pittsburg, you will find the Shrine of our Lady Grace approximately 20 miles south on Rte 3.

Motorcycle Drives

Touring the Great North Woods on motorcycle? How fun! Route 145 from Colebrook to Pittsburg is a winding, up and down scenic adventure.

For a US / Canada ride, leave from Pittsburg and head north to the Canadian border. As you cross the border there will be a turnout on your right. This is a great photo opportunity. Continue in Canada to La Patrie (second small town) and take a right and follow to Woburn, Quebec (20 minute) then take another right and cross back into the US at Colburn Gore, Maine. This is a great drive down through the ‘Chain of Lakes’ to Eustis and then Rangeley Maine. Travel toward Oquassit and then to Errol NH. Take Rte 26 to Colebrook. You will pass through Dixville Notch, very nice! Then another right in Colebrook puts you back on Rte 3 north to Pittsburg. Round trip? 4 hours.

Another great bike ride leaves from Pittburg on Rte 3 South, passes the Shrine of our Lady Grace where the annual blessing of the bikes occurs every year just south of Colebrook NH. Continue to Rte 110 in Groveton NH. Follow the Ammonusuc River and then turn onto Rte 110 A in Milan. Go under the old stone railroad bridge and continue to 110 B and go over Milan Hill. At Rte 16 take a left and travel north on Rte 16 following the Androscoggin River to Errol NH. Now take Rte 26 throuhg Dixville Notch to Colebrook where you can take Rte 3 to 145 north to Pittsburg!
