Our Lakes

The Connecticut Lakes are a chain of four lakes at the northern tip of New Hampshire. Forming the Connecticut River, these waters are clear and clean in the sparsely populated Great North Woods. These glacial deep water lakes are home to trout and landlocked salmon. They are dam controlled for flood control and recreation. Our dams are not used for power generation.

Lake Francis, the southernmost lake, was created in the 1940s to provide flood control. These pristine lakes deserve the utmost respect from boaters. If you have brought your boat from out of state, wash it carefully to avoid introducing aquatic exotics to the river system.

Our lakes are great for boating, swimming, kayaking, fishing bird watching and more!
