Serve Pittsburg Chapter # 8530, is a chapter of Serve© New England, The Smart Alternative to Food Shopping, Serve New England is a nonprofit food cooperative that has been bringing high quality, low cost food items to the residents of New England since 1991.

Serve Pittsburg operates as one of over 250 host sites (Chapters) throughout New England and provides monthly distributions of meats, produce and other grocery items at discounts of 30% - 50%. All of the food items are top quality and are purchased from name brand manufacturers, just like in the local supermarket. Because Serve New England, host sponsor, is a USDA certified retailer, food is from only the finest private producers, growers and wholesalers in New England and the United States.

Serve Pittsburg is open to all persons regardless of age, race, or income level and only requires that participants complete two hours of volunteer service per month in their community. Any uncompensated act/s of kindness provided for someone outside the immediate family qualifies. Those unable to volunteer but wishing to participate in Serve Pittsburg's program may use volunteer hours banked by the Chapter Angels in lieu of community service.

Registration for the program occurs during the first Wednesday of each month. The food will be delivered to a distribution center at the Pittsburg Fire Station (unless posted in advance) on Saturday approximately two weeks later. Registration can be done by phone, e-mail or in person at designated places.

Serve Pittsburg's program is perfect for families, seniors and people on a budget or anyone that would like to buy great food at a great price.
